There will be a fish fry at the Madison Courthouse lawn on Friday, June 5, from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. All funds will go to help send Madison native, Drew Brown, on a long-term mission trip to Haiti with RTS Missions for nine months. Dinners will be sold for $7 per plate; they include fish, cheese grits, hush puppies, coleslaw and dessert. Local deliveries will be available. “It means a bunch to me to see so many people supporting the mission field,” said Drew Brown. “My goal is to be in Haiti by the first week of August or sooner... but I need to make right around $8,000 in two and a half months!”
The money is for food, travel, lodging and insurance, added Brown. “38 percent of Haiti's population is made up of children, and many say that's a gross underestimation,” said Brown. “Some look at that and see negative, I look at it as a positive. You can't change a country through adults, something about old dogs and new tricks, but you can change a country through children and young adults. That's my calling: to show as many of them youngins' as I can who Jesus is and how a relationship with him can change your life.” Make sure you come out and support Drew as he endeavors to travel to Haiti and spread the word about Jesus Christ.
