A driver received minor injuries after a vehicle overturned several times on Saturday, April 18 at 3:58 p.m. on State Road 53, one mile north of County Road 146. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Virginia M. Polk, 72, of Madison was traveling northbound on State Road 53 in the northbound lane. Her 2002 Nissan Frontier traveled onto the eastern shoulder of the roadway and continued traveling in a northeasterly direction. The front undercarriage of the Frontier collided with a culvert and the vehicle then went airborne. Upon the vehicle landing, it rolled over several rotations and came to a final rest facing northeast on the eastern shoulder of State Road 53 in the upright position. Polk was cited for failure to maintain in a proper lane. She received minor injuries. Florida Highway Patrol was assisted by Madison County EMS, Madison County Fire Rescue and the Madison County Sheriff's Office.
