Ebony Kadira Hills Branch, 39, of Tallahassee, Fla., never met a stranger and positively touched the lives of those with whom she interacted. She will be remembered for her friendship, leadership and her ability to make a difference. However, Ebony’s mission on earth was completed; she transitioned from her earthly life to live with the Lord on Tuesday, March 16, 2021.
A viewing and visitation was held on Tuesday, March 23, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., at the Old West Florida Enrichment Center, 2344 Lake Bradford Road, in Tallahassee. Private celebration of life services will be held on Saturday, March 27, in Columbia, S.C.
Born to Roberta McCaskill, Ebony grew up in Columbia, S.C., and graduated in the class of 2000 from W.J. Kennan High School. Later that year, she enrolled at her beloved FAMU, where she double majored in Pre-Med and Chemistry to earn her degree in 2005. Ebony’s employment began in 2006 at Dermatology Associates of Tallahassee, and in 2010, she relocated to the Orlando, Fla. area to work at Comprehensive Dermatology, located in Winter Park. In 2018, she returned to her employment at Dermatology Associates of Tallahassee until her health prevented her from continuing to work.
Ebony met and later married her soulmate, Jeffrey Branch, in 2015. Together they parented Josiah, Langston and Savannah. They took advantage of quality family time and spent these occasions together. Ebony also enjoyed going on shopping sprees, art and design and traveling.
A woman of faith, Ebony accepted Christ as her Savior earlier in her life and became a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Columbia. While in Tallahassee, the family worshipped regularly at Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church. Ebony’s faith walk gave her a positive outlook on life, regardless of the circumstances. This is reflected in her favorite expression – “Each day gets better; each day gets sweeter.”
Because her promise to serve God was fulfilled, He chose her as another beautiful rose to add to His heavenly garden where she can bloom eternally. Her aunt, Luberta Daniels, preceded her in death.
Cherishing Ebony’s loving memory while mourning her passing are her husband, Jeffrey Branch, of Tallahassee, Fla.; children: Josiah Branch, Langston Branch and Savannah Branch all of Tallahassee, Fla.; mother, Roberta McCaskill of Columbia, S.C.; sisters, Robyn Burton and Ciara Hills, both of Columbia, S.C.; nieces: Taylor Ishmal, Jordan Lawson, Hannah Burton and Alexandria Keitt; nephew, Christopher Burton; uncle, Leon McCaskill of Columbia, S.C.; mother-in-law, Patricia Ballad of Watertown, N.Y.; brother-in-law, Derek Warren, of Watertown, N.Y.; and sister-in-law, Jamie Ballad of Watertown, N.Y.; along with many other loving yet sorrowing relatives and friends.
Final care and compassionate services are being provided to the Branch family, with love, care and uncompromising dignity, by the Hall-Moore Funeral Directors at Tillman Funeral Home of Madison (850) 973-6677, Jamarien "JP" Moore, Owner/Mortician.
