Leslie Fletcher is originally from Perry and moved to Madison when she married her husband, Jason Fletcher in June of 2014. Together, they have two children: Madilyn, who is four and Everly, who is five-months.
Fletcher has been in the education field for 16 years. She can be described as outspoken, passionate and straight-forward. In 2005, she graduated from Florida State University (FSU) with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. That same year she also earned her minor in education.
Fletcher originally had no intention of ever teaching. However, it all started one day when her brother forgot his lunch money at home. Fletcher went to the high school, which also happened to be her old high school, to bring her brother his money. While there, she happened across the principal, who was previously the dean when she was attending the school. He asked her to come into his office, and just like that, she had a job. Within two weeks, she started teaching. "Before I walked in, I had no idea what to do, but once I started teaching, I knew I didn't want to do anything else," said Fletcher, who is now an instructional coach at Madison County High School.
