Eleanor Duval White, age 89, passed away Thursday, Jan. 20, 2022, in St. Augustine, Fla. She was born in Madison, Fla., on July 28, 1932, to Claude and Mary Jarvis Duval. Her husband was in the United States Navy, so they lived in various places during the first 22 years of marriage. After retiring from the Navy, they lived in Gainesville, Fla., for almost 50 years. She worked as a Computer Systems Analyst in Gainesville and Palatka well into her 70s. She moved to St. Augustine, Fla., four years ago and lived with her daughter, Robin White. She was an amazing cook, an avid Words with Friends player, and a world traveler. She went white water rafting in her 70s. Mrs. White was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Luther White, and by her son, Robert White. She is survived by three daughters: Robin White, of St. Augustine, Fla.; Dr. Bridget Shore, of Eustis, Fla. and Brenda Duval, of St. Augustine, Fla.; one brother, Laurie Duval, of Live Oak, Fla.; five grandchildren: Danielle White, Rachael Graham, Joshua White, Jake Shore, and Kailey Duval and three great-grandchildren: Olivia White, Jordyn DaSilva and Oliver Duval. A graveside service is being planned for 2 p.m. on Friday, April 15, 2022, at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
