Election law causes concern in property appraiser race

As local voters headed to the polls on Tuesday, Aug. 20, many were surprised to find that they could not vote for any candidates running in the property appraiser’s race unless they were registered republicans. This created some confusion for those registered as Democrats or No Party Affiliation (NPA) because they believed the property appraiser race was a universal primary, meaning all registered voters could cast a ballot since all the
