Eloise Merritt Hazzard, 77, of Madison, Fla., transitioned from this life into eternal rest on Friday, Jan. 22, 2021, in Valdosta, Ga. She will surely be missed, but her family takes comfort in knowing it is heaven's gain.
Life celebration services will be honored by her family and friends at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 31, 2021, in the Gym of Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church, 5022 S SR 53, Madison. Public viewing and visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 30, 2021, at Tillman of Madison, ~A Hall-Moore Provider~ (850) 973-6677, 379 W. Base Street, in Madison.
Eloise spent much of her early life in Madison, before she relocated to Lockport, N.Y. She will be remembered for her generosity in sharing meals with those who did not have food and a space for those who did not have a place to live. She enjoyed sewing, cooking and helping her fellow man. Eloise lived and loved life.
Mourning her passing, while cherishing her memory, are her children: Joyce (Kent) Butler, Jimmy Lee Monson, Joseph Hazzard, Christopher Hazzard, Moses Hazzard, Cynthia Hazzard, Patricia (Dean) Grant, Carolyn (Bud) Hazzard and Joann Hill; 25 grandchildren; 62 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great grandchildren; nephew, raised as brother, Thomas Gee; and a special niece, Valerie Gee; Godchildren; Chaniya Thomas and Tykeria Beasley; along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and loving friends.
Final Care and Compassionate Services are being provided to the Hazzard family, with love, care and uncompromising dignity, by the Hall-Moore Funeral Directors at Tillman Funeral Home of Madison.
