Emerald’s Gem Box: We’ve changed our look

For the past few weeks our staff has been working on a complete makeover of our newspapers. From our logos, our front pages and our inside pages, we have changed the way we look. We decided the paper needed a more visually striking design; one that would be more appealing to our readers. We think we have found a design that will be easier to flip through and easier to read, digest and understand. We have had a lot of feedback so far. Some people have voiced that they like the new look and do think that it is easier to read. We had some say they like the “old style” but think that’s just because change is sometimes hard to get used to. It has been decades since the Madison County Carrier and the Madison Enterprise Recorder has made a change this dramatic. However, we feel this change is for the better and after the initial shock wears off we think everyone will come to love it as much as we do. Although the newspaper has a different look, our foundation is still the same. Our objective is still to cover Madison County better than anyone else and to let you know what’s happening in YOUR hometown. That’s our job and we take it seriously. As of right now, the print edition is the only thing that has received the new make-over. However, our website is in the process of receiving the same magic touches. We are not sure when the new website will be released but we hope to release it within 30-60 days. Until then, you can still continue to visit us to stay up-to-date on www.greenepublishing.com. Don’t forget we offer our e-publication for those of you who like to read the newspaper on your mobile devices, I-pad and/or computers. Our e-pub subscriptions are only $25 for an entire year and let you carry the newspaper wherever you go on ANY mobile device. You can view a sample of that on our website also.
