Mr. Enrique Fermin Mederos Franchi Alfaro was born in Cuba on July 13, 1951. However, for the past 40 years, he was a resident of Cherry Lake and the Madison County community. His brother Rene Monzote, preceded him in death.
A public viewing and visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 29, in the chapel of J.P. Moore Mortuary, 379 W. Base Street, in Madison, (850) 973-6677.
Enrique was a believer who demonstrated his Christianity in the way he interacted with others. He was very helpful, caring, compassionate and willing to give a helping hand whenever and wherever he was needed. He valued his friendships, and he knew that for him to have a friend, he had to be a friend.
Enrique also loved his family and would provide for them unconditionally, but he had an extra special bond with his grandchildren. He was their “Poppy” who always gave them treats, fun times and forever memories.
He loved being in the fresh air and sunshine. He was a seasonal laborer who worked tirelessly in gathering watermelons and peaches, but during the off seasons, he was also a carpenter who specialized in building porches and decks. However, during his leisure time, he always had time to fish and to watch westerns for his enjoyment.
On Thursday, Oct. 21, 2021, Enrique completed his life journey and slipped peacefully away to be at rest with the Lord.
Enrique’s love and legacy will continue to live in the hearts of those who loved and knew him. Fondly cherishing his memory are his brothers, Ernesto Monzote and Gustavo Monzote; five beloved children in Cuba: son, Paul Davis (Stacie), of Dallas, Ga.; daughters: Rev. Barbara Thomas (Rev. Willie), of Valdosta, Ga.; Carolyn White (Andrew), of Brandon, Fla.; and LaTonya Barfield (Raleigh), of Lake Park, Ga.; eight loving grandchildren; many other sorrowing relatives and loving friends.
Final care and compassionate services are being provided to the Mederos Family, with love, care and uncompromising dignity, by J.P. Moore Mortuary & Cremation Services, Madison, Florida, (850) 973-6677; Jamarien "J.P." Moore, Mortician.
