Farm Share is a non-profit organization that provides food to other non-profit organizations; there are only three farm shares in Florida. Thanks to Helping Hands of Madison, along with the Quincy Farm Share office, churches of the county, along with the Madison Youth Ranch and Senior Citizens Council of Madison are able to benefit from Farm Share's services. Farm Share provides food to approximately 1,400 people a month.
In addition to this, Farm Share also provides MREs to the Madison County Sheriff's Department, which come with a heater that allow burn-out victims or people in need to have a hot meal. Farm Share also works with Operation Blessings in Ocala to provide fresh vegetables, drinks, feminine products, toilet paper, paper towels, medicine and toys to anyone in need.
Farm Share is coming to Greenville First United Methodist Church on Wednesday, April 20 at noon.
Greenville FUMC is located on 174 SW Church Avenue in Greenville. Everyone is invited to attend this free, all-ages event. There will be fresh fruits and vegetables available. For more information, call (850) 948-2993 or visit the website at www.greenvilleflumc.org.
