The April 8 meeting of the 55 Plus Club is a for sure do not miss meeting. The program for April 8 is a Fashion Show featuring clothes from the Madison United Methodist Cooperative Ministries Thrift Shop. The different styles include: sleepwear, formal wear, country/western, costume, Sunday best, lazy days of summer, casual and others. The models will be men and women volunteers at the Thrift Shop, relatives of volunteers and a frequent shopper. May Irby, Chairwoman of the UMCM Board will emcee the program and there will be a brief overview of the ministry of the Thrift Store by Sue Hunter.
The 55 Plus Club is open to all Madison County residents who are 55 years old and older. All faiths and races are welcome, and no reservations are necessary. There are no fees of any kind, just come and enjoy a good lunch, fellowship, and a fun program. Hickory Grove United Methodist Church is the host for the April Program. Lunch will be served at 12 p.m. with the program following.
The 55 Plus Club meets the second Wednesday every month, from September through May at the United Methodist Center located on Highway 145 about five miles north of Madison.
