Finding a place in the state

The separation of counties is intended to provide citizens with adequate access to government services, and Florida certainly had some changes as it made the transitions from a territory to a state and to where we are today.  Florida became a territory of the United States in  early 1821, when Spain transferred the two colonies it was split into—West Florida and East Floridaâ
