A blaze during the afternoon hours of Tuesday, May 23, resulted in the total loss of a house at 700 NE English Ivy Tr., in Madison.
According to Madison County Fire Rescue (MCFR) Fire Chief Allen Clayton, the call came in at 3:25 p.m. When firefighters arrived on the scene, the house was completely engulfed in flames. Firefighters from MCFR, the Madison Fire Department and volunteers from both the Pinetta and Lee Volunteer Fire Departments battled the blaze for an hour before it was extinguished. The fire is believed to have been electrical in nature.
No injuries were reported, although four dogs inside the house perished in the flames. An account has been set up in the name of Debra Adams Epifanio at Madison County Community Bank if anyone would like to make a monetary donation.
