According to a report from Madison County Fire Rescue (MCFR), local firefighters responded to a blaze at the Welcome/Intake Center at the Honey Lake Care Center, near Greenville, on Friday, Aug. 26, at approximately 2 a.m.
When crews arrived on the scene, they were greeted with heavy fire and smoke from the building. The responding units were able to make an “aggressive attack” to suppress the fire. MCFR Tanker One, Medic Three and Greenville “A” Shift crews were assisted by Engine Three, Tanker 51, Medic Two and a crew from Madison Fire Department Engine One.
No injuries were reported and the State Fire Marshal has been notified.
