Madison First Baptist Church (MFBC) enjoyed a fruitful “Disciple Now” weekend, from Friday, Jan. 12 to Sunday, Jan. 14. More than 40 students and over 30 adult volunteers took part in the event that saw three salvations and over 12 rededications to Christ. Many others renewed their focus to be better servants of Jesus in their community.
On Saturday, more than 100 volunteers went throughout Madison doing repair and construction projects, singing at nursing homes and ministering to children. A food truck accompanied the children's ministry to provide bagged lunches for the kids. The group rounded up the youngsters by going door to door with a simple request of, “Can we have your kids for a while?,” said Aaron Hale, Youth Pastor. The children then enjoyed playing games and hearing Bible stories with the MFBC team.
Other highlights of the weekend included excellent teaching from guest speaker, Mac Cockrell, who specializes in communicating the gospel to young people. Cockrell is the National Youth Director for Life Action Ministries. Also on hand was the youth band, “Commotion,” who led worship for the event. “Commotion” is from Redland Baptist Church, in Clyattville.
