“We enjoy doing this sort of thing,” said Sunrise Coffee Shop and Bakery co-owner Moruna Sheppard, while making a baked-good delivery to the Madison Police Department (MD) on Wednesday, Aug. 3.
According to Sheppard, the coffee shop and bakery frequently drops off boxes of the freshly made baked treats to the first responders in the city. Due to the close proximity of the coffee shop and police department, Sheppard says that, if she has an extra batch of doughnuts, cupcakes or any other sweet treats, she enjoys taking a break from the shop and making a quick delivery to the local first responders.
On Aug. 3, Sunrise Coffee Shop employee, Ben Horton, made a quick delivery to the Madison Fire and Rescue, leaving them with a box of delicious treats for the firefighters who were on call.
It may be a small token of thanks, but it's just one of the ways that the Madison community is coming forward to support the first responders in the city and county.
