I'm sometimes reminded of the title of a book by the late Rodney Dangerfield, "It's Not Easy Being Me." I can relate to that. I can honestly say I was born for the job and still, it isn't always easy being me. However, since I don't see anyone else lining up for the job, I reckon I'll keep doing it as best I can.
There are times when I sit down to write something and I have a clear idea of what I want to say and a fairly clear idea of how to say it. There are other days when I have hardly any ideas of what I want to say, and even fewer ideas on how to say it. Today is one of the latter.
I feel as if this is hardly more than just a "train of thought." For me, a "train of thought," could scarcely be compared to a freight train or a sleek passenger trains. My train of thought are much more akin to one of those carnival trains that you sometimes see winding its way through a zoo or an amusement park. You know, the ones with the conductor sitting with his head sticking up over the top of the engine. I guess my "train of thought" would be the "Little Engine That Could," constantly reminding myself, "I think I can, I think I can."
I saw something the other day that caught my attention. Someone made up a large picture with all the different versions of the "Joker" from the Batman comics, movies and TV. I thought it interesting that the pictures ranged from a little goofy to downright creepy. I guess it's the same way some people see clowns. For some, clowns are fun and maybe a little goofy. I have other friends who think clowns are nothing but creepy. I guess I'm one who prefers his clowns to occupy the goofy end of the spectrum. I'm much more a fan of "Bozo the Clown" than of that clown from the Stephen King story, "It."
While I was preparing this week's jail report, I found it interesting that no one was nabbed for marijuana possession on Monday of this week (which was 4/20). I don't expect everyone to catch the significance of that. Good for you if you don't.
One final point (I guess you could call this the caboose), I do feel it quite refreshing to write about something other than "corona stuff." It's a shame that this virus has ruined the name of a pretty good beer.
