On Thursday, April 2, at 11:30 a.m., the Madison Garden Club came together for their monthly meeting. The agenda was special, as the nominating committee would announce their selections for the 2015-2017 Garden Club officers. There was no disapproval, as the club voted unanimously to elect Mina Bloodworth as Chaplain, Muriel Odom as Treasurer, Esther Decker as Secretary, Catherine Cassidy as Vice President and Susan Mohnen as President. The Garden Club's special guest was artist and gardener James Glasner, who shared photos of his art work-- murals and sculptures made from different types of wood. He also spoke on raised-bed gardening, sharing his expertise with club members. The Garden Club's next meeting is May 7 at the Woman's Club building on Lakeshore Drive, next to Lake Frances and beside Burns Funeral Home. The meeting will begin at 11:30 a.m.
