In the state of Florida, one in six people struggle with hunger. However, the Florida Baptist Convention (FBC) hopes to change that.
Florida Baptist Global Hunger Relief Day is Sunday, July 10, and this year's theme is “It Could Be Me,” emphasizing that hunger doesn't come in one size or shape. Hunger could be your neighbor, a single mom, or even you.
By giving to the FBC, you are supporting a movement of caring people and churches who are battling hunger on the frontlines- the under-employed for people in the community, in the community's schools and, of course, in the community's churches- whether it is someone who has unexpected financial setbacks or someone who just needs a helping hand.
Donations to the Florida Baptist Global Hunger Relief will go to a good cause, as 25 percent of donations will be distributed by the Florida Baptist Convention to hunger ministries in local churches and associations; 15 percent will be sent to the North American Mission Board to alleviate hunger in North America and 60 percent is sent to the International Mission Board for worldwide hunger relief.
If you don't have a lot to give, remember that a little goes a long way. Not sure how much to give? Participate in the FBC's 30 Days of Giving challenge, and give a little to FBC's Global Hunger Relief each day in the month of July:
