Gloria Jean Egle-Garbutt, age 71, of Lee, passed away at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital and went to be with her Lord on Friday, August 18. She was born on July 5, 1946, in Milwaukee, Wi. to Leon and Mary T. (Marie) Egle. Gloria, a licensed Marriage and Family Counselor, retired in December 2005 as the CEO of the Big Island Substance Abuse Council, in Hilo, Hi. She moved to Pinellas Park, Fl. to be with her husband, and a year later moved to her final home in Lee. Gloria graduated from the University of Wisconsin with her Masters Degree and belonged to numerous civic and professional groups: MENSA, ADAC, DHPC, AAVW. Her parents preceded her in death. She is survived by her husband, Norman Garbutt, of Lee; a daughter, Lisa Coykendall, of Milwaukee; one grandson, Ed Coykendall ( Missy), of Hilo, Hi.; one great-granddaughter, Brook Coykendall; one great-grandson, Brandon Coykendall, of Hilo, Hi.; two brothers, Robert Egle (Kathy), and Karl Egle (Darlene) of Milwaukee; and three nephews, Curt Egle (Kelly), Jake Egle, and Bruce Egle, of Milwaukee. A celebration of life service will be held at New Testament Christian Center (NTCC) on Saturday, September 16, at 11a.m. Gloria and her husband have been members of New Testament Christian Center for ten years. She was a dearly loved member of NTCC and will be missed greatly. Family and friends are invited to come and remember Gloria’s life.
