If you are looking for some good Christian quartet music to enjoy, Ragans Family Campground has a treat coming your way. The Gold City Quartet and former member Jonathan Wilburn will be in concert on Thursday, Jan. 11, beginning at 7 p.m.
Gold City has been producing hit songs since 1980, and they had10 chart-topping titles during the 1980s and 1990s. The group has been home to numerous southern gospel legends through the years, with current greats, Chris Jenkins, Bruce Taliaferro, Daniel Riley and Chris Wood leading the way. Playing piano for the group is Terry Wooten.
Jonathan Wilburn will be enjoying a reunion with his former group. He left Gold City in 2008 but has remained active in gospel music. Wilburn has been voted as “America’s #1 Lead Vocalist” five times by Singing News magazine.”My goal was never set on winning any award,” said Wilburn. “I just wanted to sing and pray God would use my efforts to bring a little joy to somebody.”
