A long-standing Madison County tradition continued on Friday, May 19, when the Class of 2023 held their annual Senior Walk. Seniors from both Madison County High School and James Madison Preparatory High School donned their caps and gowns and walked the hallways of each of the elementary schools in the district. This tradition has taken on a dual purpose over the years. It serves as an inspiration for the younger students, showing them what they can achieve by working and staying in school. It also often gives the seniors an opportunity to see teachers from their elementary school years and to say, “thank you” to those early teachers who helped them achieve this milestone in their lives.
The Seniors began at Madison County Central School, then made their way to Greenville Elementary School. From there, they went to Pinetta Elementary School before heading to Lee Elementary School. The Senior Walk finished at Madison Creative Arts academy. After the Senior Walk, the seniors enjoyed a cookout and picnic, along with games, etc. at the Madison Rec. Park.
