It was a rainy Saturday, March 26, but an impressive crowd showed up at Haffye Hays Park in Greenville to participate in the annual Greenville Baptist Church egg hunt. A hot dog lunch was served and this year, a special comedic gospel act by the David and Rusty Ventriloquist Team helped make the event interesting to all.
The event was a success as participants of all ages turned out to enjoy the day even though the rainy day kept the skies cloudy and the ground wet.
With the wide spread of the park, hunting for eggs was an adventure for all the children who showed up.
While some of the participants had their own egg-gathering bags or baskets, Greenville Baptist Church provided free, personalized bags to anyone who needed them. The bags were quality made and reusable for carrying anything else that the children may need, as it functioned as both a bag and backpack.
After the egg hunt, the David and Rusty Ventriloquist Team, who have been using their comedic act to bring the gospel to their audience in an entertaining light, charmed the crowd as members of Greenville Baptist put lunch into individual brown bags.
The provided lunch which included a drink, hot dog, chips and a packaged dessert, was a big hit, especially to the children who came to hunt eggs.
The rain may have made the day inhospitable, but thanks to Greenville Baptist Church and the many individuals who braved the damp day to have good, hearty community fun, the day was a success.
