On Saturday, April 4, Greenville Baptist Church hosted a community-wide Easter Egg Hunt at Haffye Hays Park. Guests donned their Easter best and arrived for a day of hunting eggs. However, there was much more in store for those in attendance. The event was kicked off with the Easter Egg Hunt-- eggs were hidden all over the park and kids ran from bush to tree, searching for the envied pastel treats. After baskets were filled, Rick Lane, of Amazing Horse Ministries, spoke to the attendees about fulfilling one's God-given purpose. He used his horse to demonstrate the relationship between God and man, and God's purpose for his children. After Lane's presentation, guests ate hamburgers and hotdogs, hot off the grill; the bounce houses were opened; games, crafts and face painting began; and everyone enjoyed the festivities. The event ended with a prize raffle. Greenville Baptist Church volunteers and Pastor Toney Hill were thrilled with the event's turn-out and there is already buzz about beginning a new tradition. It is certain much fun and fellowship was had by all.
