The 31st annual "Greenville Country Christmas" event will be happening this weekend, in the Town of Greenville, on Friday, Dec. 9 and Saturday, Dec.10.
The festivities begin Friday night at Haffye Hayes Park at 6:15 p.m. with Christmas carols and a live nativity, which will be presented by Greenville Baptist Church. Immediately following will be the town pond tree lighting and refreshments will be available across the street at the multi-purpose center.
On Saturday you can wander around and shop at the arts and crafts booths beginning at 9 a.m. At 10 a.m. be sure to gather at the gazebo for the opening ceremony where the Parade Grand Marshal (Tim Sanders) and Citizen of the Year (J.C. Fead) will be introduced and recognized. At 11 a.m. the Greenville Country Christmas parade will captivate everyone as Santa Claus and all the floats parade down Hwy 90. At 12 noon be sure to head back to the gazebo to hear the announcement of the winners of the bake-off contest, yard decorating contest and children's art contest.
The arts and crafts booths will be open until 4 p.m. and live music will fill the air.
At 6 p.m. the Greenville High School Reunion will wrap up the weekend events. All Greenville High School graduates are invited to go enjoy good food, fun and fellowship.
