Madison native Lynne Brown is known these days for her encouraging words and positive influence on others, always pointing to Jesus. Three years ago, Brown was the guest on a podcast, when the host challenged her to produce her own podcast within a week. This prodding was just what she needed to step beyond thinking about doing that and actually getting it done. From that simple beginning, Brown's podcasts are now being heard in 25 countries.
She began by Googling how to do a podcast and off she went, getting her first broadcast done within a week. The podcasts have continued every week since. During the pandemic, Brown sent out an invitation to the general public for guest interviews on her show. To her surprise, 40 people responded. "This was a very diverse group," said Brown. "I got to connect with each one of them. You never know who is listening and how you will impact them."
The growing popularity of the GRITTY Women podcasts has opened the door for conferences that listeners have enjoyed. "We had two GRITTY Women conferences this past summer," said Brown. "They were beautiful. The ladies were able to unwind, unleash and leave with more clarity of purpose. We discussed regret and failure, and we left armed with a plan for our next step." Another conference has been scheduled for November, so be listening for more details.
The term, "GRITTY" spells out many of the important values that Brown wants all of her listeners to pursue in life. The "G" is for gratitude for all the things that God blesses us with each day and keeping a thankful heart in every season of life. The "R" is for resilience. "When you fall, fall forward," says Brown, whose message is to continue planning for your next success, even after a failure. The "I" is for being inspired. "Don't hit the snooze bar in your life," Brown adds. The "Ts" are for think tough. Learn your value from the Lord and stop limiting your belief in Him. Know that life is not for wimps. The "Y" is about you. "You do you," says Brown. "Stop hooking your wagon to someone else's star. Whatever your thing is, do it, afraid or not. Don't be afraid to fail. Just be real, and do what God has laid on your heart."
