On Tuesday night, Nov. 15 at approximately 6:02 p.m., the Madison County Sheriff’s Office ended the chase of Gregory Graham, 44 of Madison.
The chase began in Hamilton County when Graham, driving a 2004 Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle, passed a Hamilton County Sheriff’s Deputy at a high rate of speed. When the deputy went to conduct the stop, Graham refused to pull over, which resulted in a high-speed chase. The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office asked for assistance when they entered Madison County.
According to Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) reports, Graham was traveling southbound in the southbound lane on County Road 254 (NE Dusty Miller Ave). In order to cut Graham off, MCSO deputy Sgt. Livingston started traveling northbound on County Road 254 with emergency lights and sirens activated. As both vehicles approached each other, Sgt. Livingston came to a complete stop in the southbound lane of County Road 254 in an attempt to get Graham to stop. As a result of seeing Sgt. Livingston, Graham accelerated speed and attempted to go around him. Graham’s attempt failed as the left side of his Kawasaki collided with the front left side of Sgt. Livingston’s vehicle. After the collision, Graham’s motorcycle then traveled onto the western shoulder of the road, overturned onto its right side and came to a final rest on its right side facing southwest on the western shoulder of County Road 254.
Graham was transported to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital with serious injuries, which resulted from the wreck. Sgt. Livingston, however, did not sustain any injuries.
FHP, Madison County EMS, Madison County Fire Department and the Madison County Sheriff’s Office assisted with the scene. The incident is still being investigated and charges are pending due to Graham still being hospitalized at TMH.
