Harlan G. Lambert, age 81, of Jennings, Fl., passed away at 10:22 p.m. on Saturday, July 8, after a brief stay at the Haven Hospice Center in Lake City, Fl. He was surrounded by his family.
Harlan was born on August 5, 1935, in Wells County, In. to Arthur Joseph Lambert and Wanita I. Eichhorn. He graduated in 1953 from Rock Creek High School and joined the United States Army in 1954. After his military service, he attended Lively Vocational School in Tallahassee, where he obtained his A & P License. Harlan married Mary Martha Cunningham on June 21, 1959, at Burnham Christian Church, in Jennings. For many years, Harlan served on the Hamilton County Farm Bureau Board, Hamilton County Planning and Zoning Board, and the Hamilton County Soil Conservation Service Board.
Harlan was preceded in death by his wife Mary Martha on July 13, 2006. He is survived by two sons, Charles Grant (Brenda) Lambert and Clay Gregory Lambert, both of Jennings; one daughter, Carla Gayle (Craig) Rizer of Quitman, Ga.; one brother, Oliver Daniel Lambert, of Bluffton, In.; one sister, Ada Mae Campbell of Bluffton, In.; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services were held at Burnham Christian Church in Jennings on Thursday, July 13. The viewing was held at 10 a.m. and services followed at 11 a.m. Brother Bruce Myers officiated. Harry T. Reid Funeral Home, in Jasper, was in charge of the arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests monetary donations be made to Haven Hospice in Lake City.
