The Madison County Senior Center offers Tai Chi classes, every Monday, starting at 10:30 a.m. Tai Chi is a low impact exercise that improves strength, reduces pain and stiffness and can help reduce falls by building better balance. Great Strides 5K will begin at 8 a.m., in Tallahassee at Maclay Gardens State Park. This 5K is a fundraiser for Cystic Fibrosis research. Check-in begins at 8 a.m.; the walk begins at 9 a.m. In addition to the 5K, there will be children’s activities, food and festivities. To go solo, form a group or for more information, visit cff.org.

Madison County E.M.S. and SSTRIDE has teamed up to offer free “Hands-Only” CPR training to community members. The class will be from 3:45-6 p.m., at James Madison Preparatory High School Auditorium. This is open to 6th graders through adults. Those who are interested in attending one of the nine available classes must register. Madison Medical Center is offering a free diabetes education class calledRinehart Bucior Diabetes 101 at 2 p.m. This class is available to anyone who has diabetes or has a family member with diabetes and will include information on healthy eating and living a healthy lifestyle.
