Imagine the fun of decorating and hunting Easter eggs without the risk of the eggs going bad and turning stinky. That's how the latest trend could be described. People paint rocks and then hide them for anyone to find. Often these rocks have little inspirational or personal messages painted on them. People also leave clues on social media as to the rock’s location. Whenever the rock hunters find the rocks, they can either keep them as a memento or they can turn around and hide the rocks again in order to keep the fun going. Often these same rock hunters will post pictures on social media outlets such as Facebook or Instagram to show the world their latest find.
This fun fad has made its way to Madison just in time for parents to provide youngsters with a creative way to pass the days of summer. There is even a group on Facebook, “Madison FL Rocks” for local “rocksters” to share their experiences.
