Holy Week is known as the week just before Easter, beginning with what Roman Catholics, Presbyterians and Methodists call “Palm Sunday of the Passion of the Lord.” The week includes Holy Wednesday (Spy Wednesday), Maundy Thursday (Holy Thursday), Good Friday (Holy Friday) and Holy Saturday. Churches around Madison County, of all denominations, have come together to celebrate Holy Week and, most importantly, to count down to Easter, the time Christians celebrate Christ's ultimate sacrifice-- his death, burial and miraculous resurrection. Moreover, Holy Week is a time to remember Christ's promise that He'll come back again.
