The Madison County Christian Ministerial Association (MCMA) is happy to announce the return of Holy Week services, which will continue on Wednesday, March 31, at 12 p.m. Each weekday, services will be held at Four Freedoms Park, at the gazebo. Every service will include a 30-minute message, with bagged/box lunches provided for everyone in attendance. Services will conclude on Good Friday, April 2.
This new format will provide for plenty of social distancing, while still giving the Christian community an opportunity to come together to celebrate Holy Week. Some seating will be available, but everyone is encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs and umbrellas. There is no alternate plan for inclement weather.
An offering will be received following each service, with proceeds helping to facilitate the mission of the MCMA to assist transients and local families in need. Local churches sponsoring Holy Week services are: Grace Presbyterian, Midway Church of God, Madison First United Methodist, Mt. Zion A.M.E. and Madison First Baptist Church. “Our community is cordially and prayerfully invited to hear God's holy word in this most important week of the Christian year,” said MCMA Secretary Rev. Joe Boyles.
