Next week will be the time for students at Madison County High School (MCHS) to show their school spirit as they get ready for the big Homecoming game on Friday, Oct. 20. Each day will have a different theme and different chances for all the students to join in the fun. The theme for this year's Homecoming celebration is “Cowboy up.”
Monday, Oct. 16, is “Character Day.” Students can dress up as their favorite character.
Tuesday, Oct. 17, is “Favorite Team Day.” Students may wear their favorite team gear during the day. Homecoming Court Coronation will take place in the MCHS gym at 7 p.m.
Wednesday, Oct. 18, is “Spirit Day,” with a Cowboys/Cowgirls theme.
Thursday, Oct. 19, is the “Battle of the Classes.” Students are encouraged to wear their school colors. Seniors should wear black. Juniors should wear maroon. Sophomores should wear grey. Freshmen should wear white.
Friday, Oct. 20, kicks off with the annual Homecoming Parade through downtown Madison, beginning at 10 a.m. As in the past, the parade route will begin near O’Neal’s and proceed toward downtown Madison. The big Homecoming game is at 7:30 p.m. at Boot Hill Stadium against University Christian. There will be a special Homecoming Half-time event during the game.
On Saturday, Oct. 21, the Annual Homecoming Dance will take place in the MCHS gym from 7 p.m. until 11 p.m.
The MCHS Cowboys are hoping to remain atop the Class 1A rankings, so everyone is encouraged to come out to Boot Hill Stadium for the big game and cheer on your Cowboys.
