Horace Lavalle Webb, of Madison, Fla., passed away at the age of 82 on Feb. 2, 2020. He was born Nov. 21, 1937, in Lanett, Ala.
He served in the US Army after high school graduation. His career was in retail primarily in Broward County. Upon retirement, he moved to Madison with his wife of 51 years, Lila Odom Webb.
He loved the beach and enjoyed traveling to Hawaii and Costa Rica. He loved tropical places.
He was predeceased by his son, Thomas E. Carter; his parents, James Horace and Lucille Huff Webb; and one sister, Onzelle Hollis.
Survivors include his wife, Lila; two sons: Thomas (Ann) Webb, of Costa Rica; James E. (Kim) Carter, of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; three daughters: April Miller, of Sarasota, Fla.; Cathy Griggs; and Helen Webb, of Madison; two sisters: Dee (Bert) Nelson; Linda Stokes; and a brother, Ted Webb.
He is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 16 great-grands who are greatly loved by their Papa.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. at Cherry Lake Baptist Church, on Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2020. Visitation will be at 10 a.m., one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
