Madison Fire Rescue received a report of a structure fire at 485 SW Jordan Street on Thursday, Feb. 5 at 3:28 a.m. The family was home at the time of the fire but no injuries were reported. According to Madison County Property Appraiser’s website, the house belongs to Dorothy Ganzy. The fire started in a bedroom on the second floor. Madison Fire Rescue Chief Bruce Jordan said the possible cause of the fire was a knocked over candle. The first floor received water damage. Fire Chief Jordan estimates $25,000 worth in damages to the house. New Home Volunteer Fire Department, Greenville Volunteer Fire Department, Lee Volunteer Fire Department, City of Madison Police Department, Madison County Sheriff’s Office and Madison County E.M.S assisted.
