Jack Ragan, 95, passed away peacefully in his sleep on March 22.
Jack was born on April 29, 1920 in Baden, Fl. He was the son of Ocie Bell Rambo and General Monroe Ragan. Jack was preceded in death by his loving wife of 61 years, Janet Luedtke Ragan. Jack was a native of Valdosta, Ga. but lived in Tallahassee since 1948. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He had multiple careers with Colonial Food Stores, Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles, Smith Kline Beecham Lab and Avis Rent-A-Car over the course of his lifetime and enjoyed every one of them. Jack enjoyed genealogy and researching his family history.
Jack is survived by his four children: Richard Ragan (Sally Warren) of Mountain View, Ca., Kaye Persell (Dave) of Charlotte, Mi., Ann Childress (Philip) of Hillsville, Va. and Michael Ragan (his beloved caregiver) as well as four grandchildren: Steven, Laurel, Carey and Nicholas.
A celebration of his life was held at Culley's MeadowWood Funeral Home in Tallahassee.
Interment will be at Columbia Cemetery in Brooks County, Ga.
