Former Madison County High School (MCHS) Cowgirl basketball standout, Jameica Cobb has been named the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Freshman of the Year. Cobb is a freshman at Alabama A & M University in the Huntsville area.
Cobb started in 24 games this season for the Lady Bulldogs; leading the team in scoring, with an average of 13 points per game, and in rebounds, with an average of 6.3 rebounds per game. There were 20 games in which Cobb scored in double figures, including a 25 point performance against the Lady Tar Heels of North Carolina. Cobb also had 11 rebounds in the North Carolina game, one of two double-doubles Cobb registered for the season.
During her senior year with the Cowgirls, Cobb helped lead the Cowgirls to the first Girls Basketball State Championship in school history. As a Captain of that championship team, Cobb averaged 24.1 points per game and 6.8 rebounds per game.
Cobb hails from Greenville and is the daughter of Mijanvo Cobb and Ramone Cobb. She is a Criminal Justice major at Alabama A & M University.
