James Donald Whittemore II, 60, passed away Thursday, Jan. 25, at his home in Madison. He was born in Jacksonville and had lived most of his life in Madison and Valdosta. He graduated from Madison High School and attended Valdosta State College. He was a welder and worked for many years with Steve Hall Flooring in Valdosta.
He is survived by a son, James Donald Whittemore III, of Biloxi, Ms.; a daughter, Teresa Nicole Manzingo, of Vancleave, Ms.; his mother, Florise Watson, of Madison; two sisters: Susan Cox, of Live Oak, and Teresa (Ed) Wilson, of Fernandina Beach; and five grandchildren: Cerina, Trenton, Landon, Joleigh, and Maddie.
Graveside funeral services were held on Monday, Jan. 29, at 2 p.m. in the San Pedro Cemetery, in Madison, with Rev. Aaron Hale officiating. T. J. Beggs, Jr. & Sons of Madison was in charge of arrangements.
