James "Jim" Walter Pulliam Jr., 88, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 9, 2020 in Madison, Fla. James was born March 17, 1932 in Madison, Fla. to James and Mary Pulliam (Davenport).
He honorably served our country in the United States Air Force and retired after 21 years of service as a Master Sergeant. He served six years with The Presidential Air Wing and also in Guam for many years. He was of the Methodist faith and was a member of Hanson United Methodist Church. James was a 32nd Degree Mason and a Shriner. He loved to play the harmonica and fish in his spare time. He enjoyed meeting people and sharing stories.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Walter Pulliam Sr. and Mary Arrabelle Pulliam (Davenport); and all his siblings.
James is survived by his wife, of 63 years, Laura Pulliam; his children: Tracy Bowen (Ben), Chris Pulliam (Missy) and John Clarence Pulliam; his grandchildren: Heather Klein (Roy), Josh Pulliam (Chelsea) and Michelle Pulliam; his great-grandchildren: Amber Klein, Asher Pulliam and Sutton Pulliam; as a well as a host of nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, Aug. 13, 2020 at 11 a.m. at Hanson United Methodist Cemetery with Rev. Michael Halley officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 13, 2020 at Hanson United Methodist Church. Due to COVID-19, masks and social distancing are required. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hanson United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund or Big Bend Hospice. All arrangements are under the direction of Burns Funeral Home of Madison.
