James (Jimmy) E. Williams of Madison, passed away at the Lake City VA Medical Center on Monday, Feb. 8. He was born on March 2, 1939 in Winter Park, Fl. to the late Wallace and Eunice Williams.
Jimmy was a 1957 graduate of Madison High School and joined the United States Navy following graduation. After serving in the Navy he returned home where he began his lifelong career as a carpenter. After retiring, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, fishing and building in his work room.
Survivors include three daughters: Sherry Finney (Doug) of Madison, Karla Hanners (Keith) of Madison and Lorraine Liusamoa (Lui) of Columbus, Ga.; one son, Billy Pridgeon (Mikki) of Madison; two brothers: Gene Williams of Wesley Chapel and Bill Williams of Tallahassee; five granddaughters: Kristin, Felicia, Chelsea, Cecila and Launa; four grandsons: James, Travis, Rodney and James; and several great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sybil; a son, Jimmy; and two of his grandchildren: John and Chris.
A graveside service will be held at Macedonia Cemetery in Lee, on Saturday, Feb. 13 at 11 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Lake City VA Medical Center Serenity Place care of Volunteer Services.
