On Tuesday March 28, the James Madison Preparatory High School (JMPHS) Book Club took a field trip to downtown Madison, visiting Madison Books to purchase books for their library initiative. They purchased books and received donations and gathered a total of 132 books for the library they worked to establish at the school. On Friday April 14, the club hosted a “Drop Everything And Read”, known as “D.E.A.R. Day” event and provided cake and ice cream for students at the grand opening of the new library. The students enjoyed this event as a school-wide free period for students to check out and read books. Anyone who wishes to give book or monetary donations should email bookclub@jmphs.org.
