James Madison Preparatory High School (JMPHS) held its prom on Saturday, April 17, from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. at Whispering Pines. The event was held in a lit pavilion, and the DJ was Merv Mattair, founder of the Boyz to Kings program. The dance featured shimmering lights, setting the mood for the event, which was enjoyed by many.
Over $400 in raffle prizes were awarded to attendees. Dawson Herring was crowned prom king, and Savannah Curtis was crowned prom queen. The theme of the event was “enchanted forest,” which resulted in many mesmerizing outfit choices that ranged from simple and classy to shimmery and elegant.
Many students attended the dance with dates in tow. Faculty and staff also enjoyed the festivities. The event even had a small table full of refreshments to make sure that everyone was hydrated after a long night of dancing to their heart's content.
