Mr. James Pride, 98, a retired truck driver for Van H. Priest, affectionately known as "Booga," passed away on Monday, Feb. 10, 2020.
He was a founding member of New Bethel Primitive Baptist Church and an active member in the church serving as Superintendent of Sunday School and Chairman of the Deacon Board.
Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 15, at 11 a.m. at Pineland Missionary Baptist Church, located at 205 SE Old County Camp Road. Visitation is scheduled for Friday, Feb. 14, from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. at New Bethel Primitive Baptist Church, located at 339 SE Osgood Avenue. He leaves to forever cherish his memories, his devoted and faithful wife of 72 years, Ruby Wesley Pride; his sons: James Edward and Eugene, both of Madison, Fla.; John (Alesia) Pride; and Michael (Toni) Pride, both of Tallahassee, Fla.; grandchildren: Yolonda, of Ellenwood, Ga.; Shaneika (Chad); and Eugenia, both of Madison Fla.; and Terrence, of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; great-grandchildren: Chalon, of Statesboro, Ga.; Shaniyah, of Madison, Fla; Trinity, of Ellenwood, Ga.; Jakori, of Madison, Fla.; and Robert, of Ellenwood, Ga.; his sister, Betty Murrell, of Bainbridge, Ga.; and Victoria Brown, of Miami, Fla.; sisters-in-law: Betty Straughter; Minnie Ruth Pride; and Mary Wesley, all of Madison Fla.; brothers-in-law: Ulysses Wesley and A.J. Wesley, both of Madison, Fla.; an adopted son, Charles Simmons; and an abundance of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
