Jared C. Swift, RN was recently chosen from a field of nine applicants from across the country for the Senior Management position of Chief Nursing Officer at Madison County Memorial Hospital. “Jared has shown from day one that he has the capability and vision to lead a team of professionals. We are excited about what he can accomplish with his experience and enthusiasm,” stated Tammy Stevens, the Madison County Memorial Hospital Chief Executive Officer. Swift began his professional medical career at Madison County Memorial Hospital as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the Emergency Room and worked in that capacity for four years until 2012. After completing his ASN degree, he then worked at South Georgia Medical Center in the Medical-Surgical Intensive Care Unit (ICU) until 2014 and continued to work for Madison County Memorial Hospital on an as needed basis. He returned to Madison County Memorial Hospital full-time December 23, 2014, to serve as Quality Manager and became a valuable member of the education and quality improvement team for patient safety and satisfaction. As the Chief Nursing Officer, Swift becomes part of the hospital’s Senior Management team and will be responsible for all aspects of nursing departments, quality improvement and pharmacy. His degrees and certifications thus far have been obtained from North Florida Community College in Madison. He received his Patient Care Technician certification in 2008, his LPN license in 2009 and his EMT Program certification in 2010 and became an RN in 2012. Swift challenged and passed the Paramedics Board in 2014 and is expected to receive his Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from Chamberlain University this year. His CNO position became effective on May 4, 2015. Swift was raised in Madison and graduated from Madison County High School. In his private time, he enjoys camping around the Suwannee River and at Ginnie Springs and enjoys Crossfit.
