For the past five years, the Boyz to Kings family organization have organized a community flag football game against the Madison County High School Cowboys here in Madison at Boot Hill Stadium.
In those five years, Boyz to Kings has seen so many men begin to dedicate themselves to standing in the gap for the community youth even after the game is played. More male involvement was the foundation of this game, but the ladies did not want to be left out, as they also care for the wellbeing of the community's youth, so a Concerned Community Adult cheerleading squad was formed by educator Barbara Davis. It has become a beautiful sight to see so many men and women playing and competing against local youth on their level in something that they like to do.
Through various partnerships, Boyz to Kings has connected with Jefferson County men and women who are also extremely passionate about their community youth and decided to get more adults involved through fellowshipping and competition; the two teams put together the upcoming flag football game to raise more awareness around adult involvement within the community and not just behind walls and inside meetings.
This game is being hosted by the Boyz to Men program out of Jefferson County. All proceeds will go to benefit the Jefferson County youth. Please come out and show your support.
The game is scheduled for Friday, May 13 at 7:30 p.m. at the Jefferson County Middle/High School football field. The entry fee is $4. It's a good day when counties can love and support neighboring counties in ways like this and more.
