Jimmie S. Cone, Sr.

Jimmie S. Cone, Sr., born Dec. 17, 1941, of Greenville, Fla., entered into rest on Monday, Sept. 30, 2024. A proud U.S. NAVY Veteran (1960-1964), serving aboard the USS NOA DD841 during the Cuban Missile Crisis and for the Mercury-Atlas 6 mission with the retrieval of Friendship 7 and John Glenn. After his time in the Navy, he worked at Winn-Dixie for 35 years as a meat cutter. He is survived by his daughter, Sharon Davis (Mike), of Greenville,Fla.; son, Jimmie Cone, Jr., of Orlando, Fla.;
