Jo Sandra "Sandy" Ryan, 71, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 15, 2020 in Lee, Fla. Sandy was born October 4, 1949 in Atlanta, Ga. to Joseph Theodore Miller Jr. and Lois Beulah “Bailey” Miller.
Sandy was of the Baptist faith and was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church and served as the Church Clerk and WMU Director for many years. Sandy worked as a Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse with many facilities in the surrounding area for approximately 30 years. She had a heart for missions and her love of family was always her top priority. She loved watching Gator and Madison Cowboy football and was a season ticketholder for many years.
She was preceded in death by her late husband of 37 years, John James Ryan, Jr.; her parents, Joseph Theodore Miller Jr. and Lois Beulah Miller (Bailey); and her son, Andy Carroll Welch.
Sandy is survived by her son, Eric Welch (Monique); Stacy Welch, Stacey Herring (Brody), Lisa Ryan, Kristin Dzienis (Joe), Kelly Toner (Ken); her siblings: Mary Ann Anderson (John), Joseph T. Miller, III (Cindy) and Phillip Miller (Belinda); 15 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren; one special aunt, Laverne Cooper; as a well as a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2020 at 11 a.m. at Burns Funeral Home of Madison with Rev. Billy Rice and Rev. Preston Gainey officiating. Interment services will follow immediately afterwards in Lee Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2020 at Burns Funeral Home Madison Chapel. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hopewell Baptist Church Missions Fund, 4730 SW CR 360 Madison, Fla. or your preferred Veterans Organization. All arrangements are under the direction of Burns Funeral Home of Madison.
