John Bowden Folsom, Jr., 60, of Valdosta, Ga. passed away early Saturday morning, July 17, 2021, in the Archbold Memorial Hospital in Thomasville, Ga. John was born on Nov. 26, 1960, in Keene, N.H. to John Bowden Folsom, Sr. and Sandra Rose Folsom. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and working on cars. Before retiring, John worked as a mechanic for Firestone. He is preceded in death by his father.
Survivors include wife, Beatrice Knowles, of Valdosta; mother, Sandra Rose Amerson of Clyattville, Ga.; brothers, William Folsom and wife Yvette, of Anniston, Ala. and Mitchell Folsom, of Lake Park; sister, Mary Henkels and husband Joseph, of Clyattville; daughter, Amanda Folsom-Kimble, of Dothan, Ala.; sons: Shane Tole, of Stockbridge, Ga., Adam West, of Springfield, Ga., Allen West, of Hahira, Ga. and Jeffery Folsom of Hahira; daughters, Amy Knowles-Jones of Thomasville, Ga. and Brandi Browning, of Madison, Fla.; son, Johnny Knowles, of Madison; special granddaughters: Taylor West, Kayla Shipp and Leara Jones; special nephew, Michael Henkels, of Lake Park; along with a number of grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Per his wishes, he will be cremated and a memorial service will be held on Sunday, Aug. 15, 2021, at 2 p.m. in the Valdosta chapel of Music Funeral Services.
