On Sunday, Jan. 9, 2022, while residing with his son in Tallahassee, John Henry Fead answered his Master’s call. Funeral services for John Henry will be at 12 p.m., on Saturday, Jan. 22, at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, located at 154 SW Ray Charles Ave., in Greenville, Fla. Burial will be held at New Zion Cemetery, located at 1943 SW Grand Street, in Greenville. Viewing/visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., on Friday, Jan. 21, at GRACE Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., located at 2758 Coastal Highway, in Crawfordville, Fla. All attendees are asked to follow COVID-19 social distancing guidelines; masks are mandatory. On Feb. 5, in Greenville, Fla., 79 years ago, during the winter of 1942, Jim and Virginia McCray Fead were blessed with the birth of a son, John Henry Fead. John Henry was part of a large, loving family. Growing up in Madison County, he attended Greenville Training School. John became a logger early in life having worked for A. J. Logging, Sheffield Logging Company and most recently The Langdale Company until his retirement. John Henry was a member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church in Greenville for several years. Throughout his life, John Henry developed a love for hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed westerns and spent numerous hours watching them in his leisure. However, the thing he cherish most was his family; John Henry never missed an opportunity to spend time with them. Left to cherish his undying loved and family values are his children: Tommy Fead, Beatrice Gallon, Deborah Bennett and Pamela (Charleton) Williams, all of Tallahassee, David Fead and John Powell, both of Madison, Fla., Wayne Davis, of Greenville, Fla., Joey (Latoya) Fead, of Aucilla, Fla., Angela (Victor) Barber, of Ft. Pierce, Fla. and Elizabeth Davis, of Live Oak, Fla.; his stepchildren: Lakisha Register (Kendy) Edouazin and Brandi Brooklin, all of Valdosta, Ga. and Ebony Hunter, of Ray City, Ga.; his siblings: Ruby Crumity, of Aucilla, Fla., Virginia (Joe) Jones, Ervin Fead and Jim (Teresa) Fead, all of Greenville, Fla., Earl (Nadine) Fead, of Madison, Fla., J. C. Fead, of Jasper, Fla. and Elijah Fead, of Marianna, Fla.; his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives along with an abundance of loving friends. John Henry was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Virginia McCray Fead, and his siblings: Henry, Clarence, Elmo, James and Mamie Fead.
