Mr. John Paul Parker, Sr., age 85, passed away Thursday, Nov. 17, 2022 in Tallahassee, Fla.
He was born to his parents George William and Annie Porter Parker in Greenville, Fla., on Oct. 18, 1937. He was a retired Press board Supervisor at Florida Plywood Inc. in Greenville, Fla.
He enjoyed planting gardens, fishing, farming and was known for his outstanding cooking. He was a person who enjoyed peaceful and simple things such as checking on his cows. He especially loved being with his family and attending his church, Greenville Baptist, where he served as a deacon.
He was preceded in death by his brother, James Parker; one daughter, Debrah Parker and four sisters: Maxine Owens, Netti Ann Whitman, Lillian Swilley and Ella Mae Lundy.
Mr. Parker is survived by his wife, Betty Lewis Parker; one son, John Paul Parker, Jr. (Lisa), of Greenville, Fla.; one daughter, Paula Parker Hammond (John E.), of Pinetta, Fla.; two brothers, Robert Parker, of Lake Park, Ga. and George Parker, of Lloyd, Fla.; one sister, Betty Jo Lewis (Aaron), of Sun City Center, Fla.; five grandchildren: Candice Hammond Yengibarov, Ashlyn Morris, Meghan Bunch, Emily Parker, and Brianna Parker; and six great-grandchildren: Alyssa Yengibarov, Jackson Yengibarov, Raelynn Morris, Kyler Morris, Brynnylie Bunch, and Carter Myers.
A graveside service was held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 21, 2022, at Evergreen Cemetery in Greenville, Fla. A visitation from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Beggs Funeral Home was held on Sunday.
